TrakMenu v2.1
(C) Copyright 1991 Synchro-Graphix Software.
All Rights Reserved.
TrakMenu is an overlay program for TrakBlaster. Basically it
makes selecting a .MOD file much easier and organizes all of
your songs.
*** Installation ***
1) If files are zipped, first unzip them into the TrakBlaster
Directory, which must also contain all .MOD Files and the
TRAK.EXE program.
*** Instructions ***
From the C> in the directory you installed the above, type
TM386-21. The program will check if .MOD or .NST files exist
in the current directory. Then it will check if TRAK.EXE
exists. If everything is OK the program will explode a
window on screen which will contain a listing of all .MOD
files in that directory.
NOTE#1: .NST files are Tetra Compositor format. If there are
.NST files in the directory, TrakMenu will prompt you for the
conversion process from NST to MOD, answer 'Y' or 'N'. The
.NST files will be restored to their original format when you
exit TrakMenu.
NOTE#2: TrakMenu now processes the timer function from the
DOS Command Line.
Syntax: TM386-21 /T[value]
value = 1 to 999 amount of time till Screen
Saver/Automated player takes effect. A value of 60
is approximately 1 minute.
value = -1 timer function is disabled
If /T[value] is not specified TrakMenu will default to 1
minute.
MOUSE - take the mouse and point at the .MOD name to play and
press the left mouse button. A second screen will appear
displaying information on the .MOD file just selected. To
play the song press the left mouse button again. If you
selected the wrong song press the right mouse button to
cancel, and repeat the process.
Clicking on the INFO Button will give you Copyright
information, and Version numbers.
Clicking on the QUIT Button will end the program and return
you to DOS...
Keyboard - use the cursor keys to highlight the .MOD file
name you want to play and press the <ENTER>. A second screen
will appear displaying information on the .MOD file just
selected. To play the song press the <ENTER> key again. If
you selected the wrong song press the <ESC> key to cancel
selection, and repeat the process.
Use the <TAB> key to move to the INFO button and the QUIT
button. A little white arrow will appear next to the button.
Press the <ENTER> key to select the button.
*** Enhancements ***
There are a few enhancements and bug fixes over the previous
version.
Added support for monochrome and EGA displays. TrakMenu
supports almost all graphic modes.
---
Fixed Text Blinking bug with the character screen after a
song is played.
---
Added Graphic PushButtons. They actually press in.
___
Increased speed of exploding windows.
___
Increased number of loadable .MOD files from 200 to 600.
Someone actually has more then two hundred .MOD files on his
computer.
___
Added faster sort routine, and fixed previous sort bug in
version 1.2
___
Added support for DOS errors with explanations.
___
Included new feature I call QuickKey. If you press a alpha
key the program will try to locate the .MOD name of the
letter you pressed. ie: Lets say you want to get to the .MOD
name ZYMOS.MOD just press the <Z> key on the keyboard.
___
Added conversion format from NST to MOD.
___
Last but not least. I have included a screen
Saver/Automated song player. If you don't select a song
within approximately 1 minute the program will randomly
select a song and play it. When the song ends the above
process will repeat automatically! Timer can be programmed
for the DOS Command Line!
I hope you like the improvements. On my original version I
didn't ask for any money to register, due to some bugs. This
version is bug free and it is not crippled. I really hate
when programs are crippled. So I am asking you to try
TrakMenu v2.1 for 30 days and if you find this program useful
please send $10.00 to register this version. You will be
added to our Data Base and informed of future releases and
updates of TrakMenu and other programs written by Synchro-
Graphix Software. Please print out the REGISTER.DOC and send
it to the address below.
Also if you could just comment on what you would like to see
added to the program to make it more feasible and/or other
programs you would like to see out there but can't find.

P.S. If you run TrakMenu in Character Mode, the colors are
pretty ugly. I must apologize for this but it was the only
way to get the VGA colors correct. The program does function
exactly as explained above. Enjoy the Program!
